Freebies
Freebies is a promotional activity allowing a customer to get a product for free in exchange for a review. Ratings and reviews can significantly affect product conversion. You can use Freebies to promote both new products and products struggling to get customer's attention.
Each day, a customer sees 20–50 products in Joom APP and can apply to get a maximum of two products free of charge. The system then automatically selects the lucky customers, who will receive the product and will have to write a real review of it later.
Each product can be selected by the system only four times, meaning that only four customers will get this product for free in exchange for a review.
We cannot guarantee customer reviews for freebies. If a customer doesn't leave a review for a product, we will remind them to do so via the Joom app. If the customer ignores it, they will be banned from Freebies participation. In such rare cases, when a product didn't get a customer review, it still benefits from participation in promo - the product receives a lot of additional traffic and impressions.
What Products Can Participate in the Freebies Promo?
- Product has no sales;
- Product has no reviews;
- Product was created less than 70 days ago;
- Product price is less than $20 (including offline shipping price, if applicable);
- Product has never participated in the Freebies promo before.
How to Participate in the Promo?
There are two types of participation:
- Auto mode: products are automatically selected by the system, not by a merchant;
- Manual mode: merchant can select what products to add to the promo.
I. Auto mode
- Go to the Marketing page in your Joom account;
- Choose Freebies tab;
- Toggle the switch Participate in Promotion.
If you want to stop participating in the promo, simply Toggle the switch Participate in Promotion again.
⚠️ PLEASE NOTE: The platform prepares the products in advance, therefore part of the products may be added to the list of potential products for the promo when Freebies is still active.
You may continue to receive freebie orders for several weeks after stop participating in the promotion.
II. Manual mode
⚠️ PLEASE NOTE: Once you added at least one product to the promotion in the manual mode, you will not be able to switch back to the Auto mode.
- Go to the Marketing page in your Joom account;
- Choose Freebies tab;
- When you switched to the Manual mode, click on the Add products button;
4. Select the products from the list or add product IDs. Don't forget to click on the button Add Selected;
5. Once you confirm your selection, you will see the added products on the Freebies page. The request is in Active status, that means that the products have been successfully added and now are awaiting the upcoming orders.
⚠️ PLEASE NOTE: If a merchant uploads several products at once, then at least 30% of the products (but not less than 2) will participate in the activity per day. A merchant can have only 50 requests active at the same time. An active request is the one not canceled or finished.
What Are the Request Statuses on the Freebies Page?
Request status | Meaning |
Active | The product has been added to the promo and is awaiting the drawing. |
Participating | The product has been added to the drawing. The request cannot be canceled. |
Awaiting orders | Your request has been raffled, and your product is awaiting the orders. Customers have one week to place the order. |
Finished | The orders have been placed or the customers have not placed any orders at all. You can receive the maximum four orders. |
Canceled | The request has been canceled by the merchant before the product was added to the promo. |
Cancelation in progress |
We are checking if the product was added to the drawing. If not - the request will be canceled. If yes - the request status will be changed back to Active. |
How to Cancel the Freebies Request in the Manual Mode?
- Go to the Marketing page in your Joom account;
- Choose Freebies tab;
- Select one or several requests you want to cancel. Only requests with Active status can be canceled;
- Click Cancel.
Before turning to the Canceled status, the request's status will remain Cancelation in progress for some time.
How to Ship the Freebies Order?
All freebie orders have to be delivered via Registered Mail or via Express Mail, using Non Registered Mail (economic shipping) is not allowed.
We highly suggest you send products that can be tracked: without tracking codes, we can’t determine the delivery date and therefore set the deadline for the review.
If there is a suitable online shipping channel, the Merchant Panel will offer you to ship the order online. Don’t hesitate and request online shipping for such orders. The most important is, according to the online shipping policy, shipping the orders via Joom Logistics is free for you!
If you can't ship the order online, please ship it offline. In this case, you will be responsible for paying the shipping costs.
