Product descriptions must:
- be provided in a text form (images won’t be captured);
- be provided in the following languages depending on the location of the merchant:
- English (for merchants in China, Japan, South Korea, and Turkey);
- French (for merchants in France);
- Russian (for merchants in Russia).
- be formatted and easy to read, meaning that is has to contain all the punctuation marks, paragraphs and spaces required;
- contain package content information (if not clear);
- contain product specification information (for electronic products);
- contain material information (for clothing, bags, accessories, shoes etc.);
- contain ingredients information (for cosmetics and similar products).
Product description should not:
- be empty
contain invalid characters, like HTML code or non-UTF-8 symbols;
use exclusively lower- or uppercase letters;
contain links to third-party resources, phone numbers or e-mail addresses as well invitations to get in touch with a merchant;
- contain extra spaces, lose spaces, contain no punctuation marks.
Joom as well suggests:
- to provide only reliable information about your products to decrease the refund rate;
- to provide information about the model’s height and size, if there is a model depicted;
- to provide "how to use" instructions.
