Product Dangerous Kind
Dangerous kind is a product characteristic required for logistics purposes. It is determined by the material of the product or its components, its function or appearance.
Merchants should select the dangerous kind for each product from the list provided by the platform. Products without this information can't be shipped, and therefore, sold on Joom.
Dangerous kind cannot be left empty. If the product is not considered a dangerous article, you can identify it as not dangerous. If the dangerous kind is incorrect, your parcel could be returned by the logistics provider.

What Are the Dangerous Kinds?
Adult products
|
All adult products. For example, sex toys, erotic lingerie, intimate products, vibrators, condoms, etc. Key for CSV/API: adult |
Articles containing batteries
|
All products with batteries and products that need to be charged. For example, watches, electronic toys, mobile phones, smart bracelets, tablets, notebooks, self-balancing scooters, remote controls with batteries. Excluding mechanical watches with no batteries. Key for CSV/API: withBattery |
Compressed gases and aerosols
|
Aerosols or other sprays under pressure. For example, fire extinguishers, hairsprays, aerosol deodorants (under pressure), dry shampoo spray. Excluding perfumes. Key for CSV/API: aerosoleAndGases |
Dangerous chemicals
Chemicals and household chemicals. For example, effervescent tablets for dishwashers with chemicals elements in the composition, cleaning dredging agents with hazardous elements in the composition.

Flammable solids, liquids and films
|
Products that can easily catch fire and explode. For example, soup, candles, glue, paints, vanishes, nail polish, solvents, gasoline, diesel, kerosene, liquid and/or solid alcohol, dry ice, motor oil, glue, copra, magnesium powder, matches, phosphorus, flints, lighters of any type. Key for CSV/API: flammable |
High-density products
|
Products containing high-density metal. They are usually seen black through an airport scanner. Such products do not include copper or aluminum products, as well as household metal objects such as buckets, figurines, mugs, etc. For example, silencers, turning tools, drill bits, metal plates, bolts and nuts, hammers. Human and animal hair
|
Natural hair and wool. For example, human hair wigs, eyelashes, animal hair brushes. Key for CSV/API: hair |
Liquid
|
Liquid products that do not contain flammable or hazardous components, such as alcohol. Key for CSV/API: liquid |
Lithium cells, batteries and strong magnets
|
All batteries and strong magnets. For example, power banks, replacement batteries of all sizes, construction tools with batteries, magnetic balls, products on magnetic levitation. Key for CSV/API: battery |
Look-alike weapon
|
Toy weapons or weapon models. For example, water pistols, children's guns. Key for CSV/API: lookAlikeWeapon |
Magnetized items
|
Products with magnets. For example, magnetic phone holders, fridge magnets, window brash cleaners with magnet. Key for CSV/API: magnetizedItems |

Not dangerous
|
Safe products that do not fall into any other kind. Key for CSV/API: notDangerous |
Perfumes
|
Perfumes of all aggregation states, liquid and solid perfumes. Key for CSV/API: perfumes |
Plants
|
Live plants, seeds, sprouts, catnip. Key for CSV/API: plants |
Powders and granulated products
|
Powdered or finely granular products. For example, hourglass, dry shampoo powder, teeth whitening powder, dye powder. Key for CSV/API: powder |

Semi-liquids
|
Nonflammable cream-based or mushy products. For example, creams, oil paints, cool pads, lubricants, mascaras. Excluding, lipsticks, eyeliners. Key for CSV/API: semiLiquid |
Sharp instruments and weapons
|
Sharp objects, excluding scissors, needles, and razors. For example, knives, comb knives, sights. Key for CSV/API: weapon |

|

How to Add / Edit Dangerous Kind?
There are 3 ways to add or edit a product's dangerous kind:
- via Merchant Panel;
- via CSV/XLSX file;
- via API.
| You cannot edit the dangerous kind for placed or approved orders. If you change the dangerous kind of product after the orders were received, the changes will only apply to new orders, but not to the old ones. |
Merchant Panel
- Go to the Products page in the Merchant Panel;
- Click Manage Products and choose Create in Panel;
If you want to add the characteristic to an existing product, select the product on this page and click Edit product on the specific product page.

Find Dangerous kind field and click it to choose the relevant kind;
- Click Save.
CSV/XLSX File
I. Download the document using one of two options:
This way, you will download the file containing only the products you filtered out. This option is helpful, if you wish to update some products. |
This way, you will download an empty document, so you will need to completely fill out the product ID. This option is helpful, if you want to create a new product and add attributes to it. |
You can find the generated file in the My Files section. Download it from there as CSV or XLSX format.
II. Fill out the document
Open the document on your computer and fill out the required information.
Fill out the Dangerous Kind column for each product using the following keys only:

III. Upload the document back to the platform
Save the document as CSV or XLSX and upload it back to the Merchant Panel:
- Open the Products page in the Merchant Panel;
- Click Manage Products → Create/Change via CSV/XLSX;
- Upload the document in the special field;
- Click Upload.
You can later find the uploaded file in My Files section.
API
You can add the dangerous kind via API while:
