Setting Shipping Countries for Account and Product
On Joom you can manage in what countries customers can buy your products. By setting disallowed countries for all or specific products, you will not receive the orders from the regions you are not able or don’t want to ship to.
How to disallow certain countries for the account
- Go to the Settings page in the Merchant Panel;
- Click on the Allowed Countries & Regions tab;
- You will see two lists:
- Allowed Countries & Regions;
- Disallowed Countries and Regions.
Allowed Countries & Regions: This is the list of countries where your products are available for purchase. Excluding a country from this list means that your products will not be displayed to customers located there and you will not receive any orders from these regions. Don’t forget to click “Save”.
The Allowed Countries list is updated automatically from time to time and new countries covered by Joom Logistics are set as “Allowed” in the list. You can disallow them at any time.
Disallowed Countries & Regions: This is the list of countries where customers cannot see and therefore buy your products. Once you disallowed a country by clicking on the Disallow button, it will appear in this list. If you want to allow those countries again, click on the Allow button next to it in the Disallowed Countries & Regions list. Don’t forget to click “Save”.
Why some countries might be blocked for your account?
If we consider you to be a new merchant* on Joom, you can ship to the countries covered by Joom Logistics only. The countries not covered by Joom Logistics will be blocked by default and displayed in the Disallowed countries list for the merchants we consider new.
*Please note: being “new” on Joom is not defined by how long you have Joom account for, rather than by the number of orders delivered. If a merchant has few orders already delivered, we still consider him new, as the platform cannot assess the quality of the service provided by the merchant.
Once a new merchant is no longer considered “new” (meaning he has delivered enough orders), he will be able to ship orders to the countries not covered by Joom Logistics.
⚠️ PLEASE NOTE:
Once the countries not covered by Joom Logistics become available for the merchant, they will appear in the Disallowed countries list and the merchant will have to manually allow them in the Merchant Panel.
How to disallow certain countries for the product
You can disallow shipping countries separately for each product or product variant.
- Go to the Products page in the Merchant Panel;
- Select the product you want to disable countries for and open its page;
- Scroll down and click on the Edit Shipping button;
- Disable a country for the whole product or its variant.
- Don’t forget to click on the Save button.
One you disable a country, the customers from that country will not be able to see the product or the variant.
