Gift with Purchase (GWP) is an experimental feature to test how big the sales difference between “usual products” vs “products with a GWP info in the main product image” is.  

⚠️ PLEASE NOTE: The feature is only available for selected merchants. You can discuss the possibility of using it with your KAM.

How Does GWP Feature Work?

The main idea is that clients receive a gift from a merchant when buying products participating in the GWP experiment. Before introducing the feature to all merchants, we want to test out how sales differ with this promo.

Products using the GWP feature have a gift badge on the main image. By clicking the badge, the users can learn information about the gift. In the experiment, we will compare the sales of the products with and without the gift badge.

How to Prepare a Gift?

1. Ensure your gift corresponds to the following criteria:
   • Size <15 cm on either side;
   • Price is at least two times cheaper than any product it's gifting for, usually <3 USD;
   • Weight is less than any product it's gifting for, usually <50 g;
2. Upload the gift to the platform as usual product. If you don't want to offer it for sale, you can disable it;
3. Do not use any image templates for the product image. Such products will be rejected by moderation;

4. You can change the gift if the GWP promotion has not yet started. To do this, click Change product next to it.

How to Participate in the GWP Experiment?

1. Go to Marketing → Promotions page in the Merchant Panel;
2. Click Create Promotion in the right upper corner;
3. Fill in the General Info:
   • Promotion type - Gift with Purchase;
   • Promotion internal name - enter any custom name, customers will not see it;
   • Select Start date and End date;
   • Enter Gifts limit - the maximum number of gifts that you are ready to give out with purchase. When the gifts reach the limit, the GWP function will be disabled automatically.
4. Click Add Product to select the gift;

5. Select a gift from the list of your products, or enter its product ID. If your gift is a new product, you should upload it first. Click Add Selected;

6. Add products that will use a gift with purchase. To do that, click Add Products;
7. Select products from the list of your products, or enter their product ID. Click Add Selected;
8. Set discounts for the participating products. The minimum discount is 1%;
9. Click Save.

Once you clicked Save, the GWP promotion will run on the selected dates. The information about the gift will be added to the shipping label automatically.
