How to Add Attributes for the Products?
Before reading this guide, please refer to the article Product Attributes to know more details on what an attribute is and what it is needed for.
⚠️PLEASE NOTE: Attributes differ depending on the product category. Based on their necessity according to the legislation and platform rules, some attributes are mandatory, some are optional ones. Please refer to the Category Requirements page in the Merchant Panel to check what attributes your products need.
How to Add Attributes for the Products?
There are four ways to add the attributes for your products and product variants:
- via Merchant Panel interface;
- via product description in the Merchant Panel;
- via CSV/XLSX file;
- via API.
General Rules of Filling in an Attribute
- Both attribute name and value should be written in English;
- Carefully enter the name and values: even a missing letter or typo can prevent the system from recognizing an attribute;
- If the attribute has multiple values, separate them by commas. There must be a space after each comma;
- Do not put a full stop at the end of the attribute name or value;
- Do not put a colon at the end of the attribute name while adding it via CSV/XLSX file;
- Put a colon after the attribute name and a space before the attribute value while adding it via the Merchant Panel.

How to Add Attributes via Merchant Panel Interface?
Using this way, you can add attributes to both the entire product and its variants.
- Go to the Products page in the Merchant Panel;
- Click the "Manage Products" button and choose "Create in Panel";
⚠️If you want to add an attribute to an existing product, select the product on this page and click "Edit product" on the specific product page.

Scroll down, click the "+ Add Attribute" button;
- Carefully enter the attribute's name and value following the general rules. Otherwise, the system may not recognize and, therefore, accept your attributes;
- Click "Save" once you finished adding the attributes.
To remove the attribute, click the cross next to the value.

How to Add Attributes via Product Description in the Merchant Panel?
Using this way, you can add attributes to the entire product only.
- Go to the Products page in the Merchant Panel;
- Click the "Manage Products" button and choose "Create in Panel";
⚠️If you want to add an attribute to an existing product, select the product on this page and click "Edit product" on the specific product page.

Scroll down to the "Description" field;
- Carefully enter the attribute's name and value directly into the "Description" field following the general rules. Our system automatically recognizes the attributes. The correct format is as follows:
- Attribute name: Attribute value

How to Add Attributes via CSV/XLSX File?
Using this way, you can add attributes to both the entire product and its variants. In order to do so, you first need to download a generated CSV/XLSX file with attributes specific for selected categories, fill it out and upload back to the Merchant Panel.
I. Download the document using one of two options:
This way, you will download the file containing only the products you filtered out. This option is helpful, if you want to update some products or product variants. |
This way, you will download an empty document, so you will need to completely fill out the product ID. This option is helpful, if you want to create a new product and add attributes to it. |
You can find the generated file in My Files section. Download it from there as CSV or XLSX format.
II. Fill out the document
Open the document on your computer and fill it out. You can add attributes in two ways:
- provide them in the product description;
- create a new column with the attribute name and provide its value in the lines below.
⚠️PLEASE NOTE: Enter the attribute's name and value carefully following the general rules. Otherwise, the system may not recognize and, therefore, accept your attributes.

III. Upload the document back to the platform
Save the document as CSV or XLSX and upload it back to the Merchant Panel:
- Open the Products page in the Merchant Panel;
- Click "Manage Products" -> "Create/Change via CSV/XLSX";
- Upload the document in the special field;
- Click "Upload".
You can later find uploaded file in My Files section.
JOOM TIP: You can easily download the list of products that already have attributes provided: just filter out up to 5 product categories on the Product page and click "Export" -> "Export Products with Attributes".
You can find the generated file in My Files section. Download it from there as CSV or XLSX format.
